Island Summers Crew
A gift to San Diego from their sister city, Yokohama, Japan. It is placed in a grassy park on the island near the marina.
It's always nerve wracking going under a bridge no matter if the chart tells you the bridge is 195' tall and you're 63'.
This sub passed as we were entering the bay. This was the first sign of military presence.
San Diego Bay
USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) is the United States Navy's third Nimitz-class supercarrier.
Notice the baby in the water. He was crying because he couldn't get up on the buoy and the big sea lions were ignoring him.
San Diego Bay is 19 miles with anchorages and harbors throughout.
You can see these dolphins in the distance just speeding towards us and they don't slow down.
These guys are stationed all down the beach. The beach in Oceanside was closed to swimmers today but it was open to surfers.
This guy was huge! He was on the dock across from us sleeping all day and he would be up barking at other sea lions all night if they tried to get on his dock.
This large sea bird landed on our bow and we noticed he had a broken leg. He rested for a few hours and flew off when we docked.
There was a stand up paddlleboard competition this weekend at Baby Beach. Great spectator sport!
The dinghy dock gets pretty crowded and then the surge of the waves tossing them around.

I saw so many of these flowers while riding my bike. They are everywhere! So beautiful!
What are Fishzookies? They are fish shaped waffles with several scoops of ice cream and chocolate and carmel sauce drizzled down the side. Yummy!
We met Darren on the street corner in Ventura Harbor when we were trying to follow Google maps. What a nice guy and I love his helmut with the cool antenna.
